Jordan Mayfield, LSCSW, LCAC received her master’s degree from The University of Kansas in 2012. She is also licensed as a clinical addiction counselor and has worked in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings.
Jordan has worked in the social service field for the last 10 years providing direct care services for the last seven. Most recently she worked in Topeka providing outpatient psychotherapy to adults. She is also licensed to treat individuals and families with substance use concerns as a secondary diagnosis. Jordan has experience treating a variety of compulsive behaviors such as gambling, pornography and internet use, as well as self-harm, disordered eating, anxiety, depression, and trauma.
Jordan also conducts marriage and relationship therapy, and individual and family therapy for adolescents, adults, helping professionals, and caregivers. She treats issues of sexuality, including gender dysphoria, understanding and acclimating to sexual attraction. She's taken over 1,000 hours of Love and Logic training focused on therapy, training and class facilitation with parents. Jordan has trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) which focuses on teaching clients skills in distress tolerance, mindfulness, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. These skills empower clients to regulate their own thoughts, feelings and behaviors to create a life they see as worth living.
Jordan's therapy style is down to earth, focused on client’s strengths and resilience and validating of the inherent struggles life has to offer at times. She looks forward to learning more about you and walking with you on your journey.
